Destiny Henry & Jaquarius Bent

South Division's Bent & Rufus King's Henry Named MCC Student-Athletes of the Week (Jan. 27)

Jaquarius Bent (South Division High School) and Destiny Henry (Rufus King High School) were named the Milwaukee City Conference Student-Athletes of the Week for the week of Jan. 19-25.

After a dominant 2023-24 campaign that culminated in a Player of the Year award in the MCC White Division, Bent has continued to post eye-popping numbers despite the Cardinals’ jump to the MCC Blue Division. In South Division’s 89-75 win over Audubon on Thursday, Bent finished with 31 points on 12-19 shooting.

South Division only suffered two non-conference losses (by a combined eight points) and is currently undefeated in the MCC Blue Division. The Cardinals are back in action on Tuesday night at home against Golda Meir. Purchase your digital tickets for the game here.

Henry led the charge for Rufus King last week as the Generals cruised to two wins in the MCC Gold Division. Henry averaged 20 points, 11.5 rebounds, and 8 steals per game, including a triple-double in a home win over Juneau.

Rufus King, which remains one game behind Golda Meir in the loss column in the MCC Gold Division standings, returns to the court on Friday night at home against Riverside. Purchase your digital tickets for the game here.
